Our Stylist Says

I really like this wall light for outdoor spaces because of its sleek, contemporary look. The black finish offers versatility, working well in modern garden designs or traditional exteriors with a contemporary twist. The ribbed glass adds subtle texture while diffusing light evenly, which helps create a warm, inviting atmosphere without harsh glare. Styling tips include mounting it on either side of a front door for symmetry or along a garden path for added visual interest. It's practical as well as stylish, providing both illumination and a statement piece that enhances the overall curb appeal. Keep in mind that its streamlined design lends itself best to clean lines and minimalist outdoor styling, but it can also complement more eclectic spaces with the right accessories.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
