Description
The Profile chair was designed by Matthew Hilton to accompany his award-winning Cross extending table. Crafted from solid timber, this well proportioned chair features a soft upholstered leather seat pad, splayed legs and a recessed back which ensures it is extremely comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time. Designed with a sleek and durably constructed frame, the Profile chair is an ergonomic solution for dining and is conveniently stackable up to six chairs high. Matthew Hilton worked as an industrial designer and model maker until 1984 when he set up his own design studio/workshop. Two years later he launched a series of shelves at the Milan Furniture Fair, and in 1991 he designed the Balzac Armchair, which was embraced as a modern classic. John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
