The Brockwell Desk demonstrates designer Matthew Hilton's signature minimal aesthetic and innovative approach to furniture design. With slim solid legs, this compact home office desk is finished with a robust steel back with integrated cable tidy to help keep your workspace neat and uncluttered. Matthew Hilton worked as an industrial designer and model maker until 1984 when he set up his own design studio/workshop. Two years later he launched a series of shelves at the Milan Furniture Fair, and in 1991 he designed the Balzac Armchair, which was embraced as a modern classic. Since then, Hilton's work has taken on a less stylistic, more functional approach. Want to see it first? You may want to see and get a feel for the furniture in one of our shops before ordering. We'll be able to tell you where the range you'd like to view is on display.
This desk offers a clean, modern aesthetic with its combination of oak and white finishes, making it quite versatile for a range of interiors. I love its minimalist lines, which suit contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired spaces but can also complement more traditional settings that incorporate natural materials. It's practical for home offices or compact working areas, providing a good balance of style and function. For styling, consider pairing it with simple, understated accessories such as sleek desk organisers or a statement lamp, and keep the surrounding decor light and uncluttered to let the natural wood and fresh white accents shine. It works particularly well in light-filled, neutral-toned rooms but can also be a standout piece in more colourful spaces if styled thoughtfully.
