Description

Add a minimal accent to your reading or relaxing space with the Matte Velvet Cushion. The velvet exterior of this cushion brings a chic look and feel to your bed, armchair or couch. The matte finish of this 43 x 43 cm pillow fits gorgeously with a contemporary theme, featuring a range of colours perfect for matching any decor.

Our Stylist Says

I love this cushion for adding a sophisticated touch to both modern and classic interiors. The matte velvet finish offers a subtle sheen that adds depth without overpowering the space, making it an excellent choice for living rooms or bedrooms. It works well paired with neutral tones for a calming palette or contrasted with richer colours for a bit of drama. Practical styling tips include layering it with textured or patterned cushions for visual interest or using it on a bed, armchair, or sofa to create a cosy, inviting feel. Its muted silver tone lends itself effortlessly to layered winter schemes or fresh spring looks, making it a versatile staple in any soft furnishing collection.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
