Description
The minimal aesthetic of Scandinavian design is beautifully realised through masterful Indian craftsmanship to create the Bowl medium occasional table. Designed by Ayush Kasliwal for Danish brand Mater, the Bowl range showcases and supports the traditional skills of the Kharadi, a community of wood turners based in India. Each table is made from sustainably harvested mango wood that is lathe turned to create its elegant lipped design. Supported by tapered steel legs, the Bowl range comes in a range finishes and sizes that look striking alone or in groups.

I often use this mango-wood bowl table as a versatile side piece in both contemporary and Scandi-inspired rooms. Its warm, natural finish adds texture against muted walls, while the slim metal legs keep it feeling light and unobtrusive.
For practical styling, try it beside a sofa with a small stack of books and a sculptural vase, or in an entryway topped with a ceramic bowl for keys and loose change. It also works well grouped with taller plant stands to create a layered display.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
