Description

Bring a sophisticated aesthetic to the outside of your home with the Mateo Glass Panel Outdoor Wall Light. This wall light features a sleek black finish and has a box lantern design, putting a modern spin on the classical lantern design. It also features stunning clear glass panels which display the bulb within, looking ideal when paired with a separately sold vintage filament light bulb, and is IP44 rated for water resistance against outdoor weather conditions.

Our Stylist Says

This wall light is a clever mix of modern industrial and minimalist design, making it versatile for various outdoor settings. I love the black finish paired with the glass enclosure-it adds a sleek, contemporary touch while offering practical protection for the bulb. It works particularly well in pared-back, urban exteriors or contemporary gardens where clean lines and understated details are a priority. For styling tips, consider pairing it with other black or metal outdoor accessories to create a cohesive look, and position it alongside textured plants or architectural features to highlight its geometric silhouette. It’s a practical choice that combines form and function, bringing a subtle yet impactful lighting solution to outdoor spaces.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
