Description
It’s the travelling through cities like Paris, Barcelona and New York where the designers from Danish studio Norm Architects fell in love with old street lamps. This silhouette – a semi-transparent glass globe with a cast-iron upper part that kind of looks as a hat – is already a part of our collective memory. Back in the studio, in order to create Mass Light, the designers reworked the general form and combination of materials. This pendant consists of a brass upper part that overhangs an opal glass lampshade.

I love this pendant for its clean, minimalist silhouette and subtle touch of luxury with the gold detail. It works particularly well in contemporary or modern interiors, but can also add a refined edge to more eclectic spaces. The bulb-like design lends itself to both functional task lighting over dining tables or kitchens, as well as creating cosy ambient lighting in living areas.
