Description

Refresh your space with the calming hues of the Martha Cushion in Blue. Its muted shade adds sophistication and tranquillity to living rooms or bedrooms, making it a versatile and timeless choice. Made from soft, high-quality fabric, this cushion delivers both style and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Martha Cushion, Blue for its subtle yet sophisticated stripe pattern, making it versatile for a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in coastal, Scandinavian, or minimal schemes where the calming blue tones can add a touch of colour without overwhelming. In practical styling terms, it pairs beautifully with neutral tones or textured fabrics, and can be layered on sofas or beds for a relaxed yet polished look. To maximise its impact, consider contrasting it with more solid or textured cushions to create visual interest and keep the overall space from feeling too uniform.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
