Description

A contemporary design, the Marston walnut stain sideboard provides stylish and practical storage for any living room, hallway or dining room. With 2 spacious shelves and a bottom cupboard that adds interest to the design, there’s plenty of space for books, vases and accessories. Finished with a push-close mechanism and a moveable shelf inside, its handleless doors add to its seamless design. Designed in our in-house studio, and inspired by mid-century living, this sideboard is crafted from solid oak and finished with a walnut stain. An oak stain finish sideboard is also available as well as a bookshelf in both oak and walnut stain.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its clean lines and warm walnut finish, which makes it incredibly versatile for both modern and more traditional interiors. It works well in living rooms, dining areas, or hallways, providing practical storage without compromising on style. To style it effectively, consider balancing its natural wood tone with textured accessories like woven baskets or ceramics, or contrast it with bold colours in artwork or soft furnishings. Its understated design lends itself to a minimalist look, but it can just as easily be used as a statement piece when paired with other natural materials or vintage finds. Practical tips include using the open shelf for display or everyday items and keeping top surfaces clutter-free for a streamlined aesthetic.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
