Our Stylist Says

The Mars Wall Light Spun Cowl delivers a sleek, modern silhouette that works beautifully in a variety of interiors, from contemporary to industrial-inspired spaces. I love its muted grey tone, which makes it versatile enough to pair with both colourful and neutral colour schemes. It’s particularly effective when used to highlight architectural features or as a bedside reading light, thanks to its directional design. For styling tips, consider placing it alongside minimal furniture and modern accessories to maintain a clean aesthetic, and hang it at eye level for functional illumination. Its understated look ensures it complements rather than competes with other design elements, making it a practical yet stylish addition to any wall.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
