Pop-up extending dining table looks incredible and is just so versatile. Contemporary industrial style at a truly exceptional price. Made from real oak, every table is a one of a kind. Fast and fabulous pop-up mechanism extends the table in seconds. Solid oak table top has a characterful dark wire-brushed and oiled finish. Striking star-shaped black metal base. Only at Furniture Village. This pop-up extending dining table is part of the Mars range. What you need to know. This table seats 6. Seats 8 when extended. When extended, the woodgrain of the extension leaf will not run in the same direction as the woodgrain of the table. As oak is a natural material, knots and markings are to be expected. Avoid placing in direct sunlight, and take care to use coasters and placemats. To preserve the finish, apply an invisible buffing wax every six months.
I’m drawn to this extending dining table for its blend of a warm walnut-effect top and a matte black steel base. It works well in modern, industrial or Scandi-inspired spaces, where the clean lines and darker wood tones add depth without overpowering. The pop-up extension makes it ideal for city flats or open-plan kitchens, giving you extra seating on demand without a bulky footprint. For styling, pair it with mixed-material chairs - think bentwood or subtle upholstered finishes in muted hues - and anchor the look with a simple linen runner. A low ceramic vase or a couple of tapered candles keep the centrepiece minimal, maintaining focus on that striking X-shaped base.
