Description
PLEASE NOTE: cushion cover sold on its own (filling sold separately). Designed by Finnish artist Jenni Tuominen, the Marikylä (Village of Mari) motif is a nod to the history of the Marimekko brand, which turns 70 in 2021. Indeed, in the 60s, Armi Ratia, founder of Marimekko, built a utopia called Marikylä (the Marimekko village), where staff could live and creators could come together to invent the Marimekko way of life and the new Marimekko designs. This cheerful motif represents a village full of love, happiness and creativity. A village where even the horses are dressed in graphic prints! Chic and graphic, the collection of textiles designed by Marimekko brings new life to your interior! Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours, for a house full of inspiration!.
