Description

Marianne Flush Ceiling Light, Antique Brass

Our Stylist Says

I love this flush ceiling light for its blend of classic and contemporary appeal, making it a versatile choice in various interiors. The antique brass finish adds warmth and a touch of sophistication, while the crystal accents bring a subtle hint of glamour. It's particularly well-suited to traditional or vintage-inspired spaces, but it can also add contrast in more modern or eclectic rooms. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral or richly coloured wall paints to highlight the brass detailing, and keeping surrounding decor minimal to let the light fixture be a statement piece. It's a smart choice for spaces like bedrooms, hallways, or living rooms where you want an elegant but unobtrusive light source.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
