Description
The Marianne combines contemporary design with a classic tone for a simply stunning image. A tall, slender stem reveals 3 curving arms and cut glass shades, which give a subtle shimmer to the light as it shines out across the room. Ideal for illuminating dark corners or giving soft illumination over an armchair or sofa, Marianne is a practical, stylish addition to your home.
Our Stylist Says
I love the Marianne floor lamp for its sleek yet vintage appeal, making it a versatile piece for various interiors. Its antique brass finish adds warmth and sophistication, making it suitable for both classic and contemporary settings. It works particularly well in living rooms or reading nooks where ambient lighting is key, and it pairs beautifully with neutral or textured textiles. For styling tips, consider placing it next to a cosy armchair or a sleek sofa to create an inviting corner. Keep the surrounding decor minimal to let the lamp’s elegant curves and finish shine, or combine with other brass accents for a cohesive look. Its dual arms give it a functional yet stylish edge, perfect for layering lighting in your space.

About BHS.com
Historical Roots
British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.
Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.
Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!
Expansion and Evolution
BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.
They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
