I’m a big fan of the Manette bed in antique rose velvet - its arched, scallop-style headboard adds instant character and the plush upholstery brings a cosy, tactile appeal. It works especially well in schemes that blend mid-century or art deco elements with a modern twist, and the warm rose tone pairs neatly with muted neutrals or deeper jewel colours. For styling, keep bedding crisp and simple (think white or soft grey) and layer in a couple of accent cushions in complementary tones. Flank it with slim brass or black bedside tables and adjustable wall lights to draw attention to the headboard. If space allows, top a low bench or trunk at the foot with a folded throw. Velvet does best out of direct sun and with the occasional gentle vacuum to keep fibres looking their best.
