Description
Made in Italy, this chair has a die-cast aluminium shell. The fine steel structure that makes up the sled base extends to form light and airy armrests. The Mammamia chair is simple, contemporary and timeless. It can be used indoors or out. Italian designer Marcello Ziliani on the Mammamia chair: “Designing Mammamia was first about paying tribute. By creating a chair, the reference to the masters is obviously inevitable, and I felt it was a good idea to celebrate the iconic “Plastic Side Chair DSW” by Eames with a project that captures its elegance and proportions while introducing a substantial element of innovation such as the use of die-cast aluminium. This choice made it possible to reduce the thickness of the shell to extremely thin sections of just 4 mm, but at the same time to obtain an optimal solidity to allow the use of long, thin steel feet, adding lightness to the furniture. The chair is very thin and almost two-dimensional, but at the same time it’s very solid and extremely comfortable. ”.
