Description
Precious as a jewel, this luxurious chair with its fine armrests is made in Italy. It is the result of remarkable work in the material. Made of die-cast aluminium, the shell is entirely covered with real gold leaf applied by hand: each item is unique. This meticulous craftsmanship brings to life a beautiful, irregular texture that plays with reflections and light. The fine structure that makes up the sled base is extended to form light and airy armrests. Just as precious as the shell, the structure is made of 24-carat gold-plated steel. The Mammamia chair is simple, contemporary and timeless. It can be used indoors or out. Italian designer Marcello Ziliani on the Mammamia chair: “Designing Mammamia was first about paying tribute. By creating a chair, the reference to the masters is obviously inevitable, and I felt it was a good idea to celebrate the iconic “Plastic Side Chair DSW” by Eames with a project that captures its elegance and proportions while introducing a substantial element of innovation such as the use of die-cast aluminium. This choice made it possible to reduce the thickness of the shell to extremely thin sections of just 4 mm, but at the same time to obtain an optimal solidity to allow the use of long, thin steel feet, adding lightness to the furniture. The chair is very thin and almost two-dimensional, but at the same time it’s very solid and extremely comfortable. ”.
