Description

Perfect paired with other stunning pieces from the Maison Dining Range, or an ideal bold feature in minimalist dining spaces, the Maison Side Chair has a relaxed and open design that delivers cool, rustic vibes to any home. A versatile means of seating that complements various interior schemes, the Maison’s subtle curves on its linear frame work effortlessly with its unique two-tone look. Featuring a mango wood seat with an oiled finish that showcases the beauty of natural wood characteristics, and a splash of contrasting colour through a wonderfully distressed, moss grey painted finish, the Maison’s blend of traditional and modern designs allows it to sit well in a variety of styles.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its subtle blend of vintage charm and modern practicality. The Albany and moss grey finish makes it versatile enough to complement a variety of interiors, from rustic kitchens to contemporary dining rooms. Its lightweight frame allows for easy movement and rearrangement, while the wooden seat adds warmth and texture, making it comfortable for everyday use. For styling tips, consider pairing it with natural materials like linen or woven textiles, or mixing it with bolder statement pieces to create an eclectic feel. It works particularly well in relaxed, casual spaces or as a touch of understated elegance in more formal settings.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
