Description

Part of the 'Home Sweet Homes' collection, the Es Cap Maison Francis Kurkdjian scented candle captures the atmosphere around a refurbished barn, where the minimal meets the essential. In this house situated in the south of Formentera, the elegance of simplicity prevails - the luxury of silence, a dreamy environment untouched by time. Between a radiant blue sky and red soil, burning white-hot from the summer sun, the candle evokes the fragrance of a fig tree, whose voice is carried by a warm wind whipping against the cliffs. The Es Cap Maison Francis Kurkdjian scented candle is presented in a porcelain jar from Limoges where the inside colour is applied by hand. The French plant and animal wax holds a braided cotton wick to preserve the candle’s olfactory quality and ensure an optimal 55-hour burn time.

Our Stylist Says

This candle is a versatile piece that works beautifully in both modern and classic interiors, thanks to its sleek white exterior and subtle design. I love how it adds a sophisticated touch without overpowering the space - perfect for coffee tables, sideboards, or bathroom shelving. In styling, I recommend grouping it with other monochrome accessories or placing it alongside textured fabrics and natural materials like wood or stone to create a calm and inviting atmosphere. Practical tip: keep it in well-ventilated areas and consider using it in conjunction with other candles of varying heights for an elegant layered effect. It’s a simple but effective way to introduce both scent and a bit of understated luxury to any room.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
