I’m a big fan of the Mae stool in that soft lichen velvet - the subtle green works beautifully against oak or ash kitchens and brings just enough colour without overwhelming a neutral scheme. Its slim, mid-century-inspired frame keeps the look light around an island, while the channel-back adds extra comfort for long breakfasts or evening drinks.
Styling tip: tuck it under a wooden or marble-topped bar and add brass or matte-black accessories nearby to echo the warm tones in the legs. A simple jute or wool runner beneath will ground the space, and a few potted plants will pick up the velvet’s natural hue.
