Description
Poetry in glass… Highly sculptural, the Madre lamp is a sensual, tactile object that immediately wins you over: from the first glance, you’re attracted by the precious nature of the hand-blown glass material. Handmade in Italy, the Madre lamp is the result of remarkable skill and craftsmanship. This lamp has an evocative shape, charged with symbols. The large, luminous body is interrupted in its middle by a wide opening, creating a magical vision, where the exterior and interior light meet and blend. On the top of the lamp, a cavity conceals a container where you can arrange a few branches, thus creating an overall effect both sober and elegant. Designer Andrea Anastasio explains: "Madre is the starting point for a reflection on light: its role is its essence. The shape alludes to the generous hips of mother goddesses, the deities who protected the fertility of the earth. This shape also refers to the vase, as a receptacle of life, in that, before holding flowers, this object had the function of holding food. Designer and philosopher Andrea Anastasio explores ancient cultures, the boundaries of art and contemporary design. Fascinated by the study of the poetics of conceptual art and its possible convergences with industrial design, he draws objects that generate contaminations of languages and meanings.
