Madison Avenue runs between Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Since the Twenties, it has been the centre of the American advertising industry. The Mad-ison Men were the golden boys of the Sixties , who dreamed up the images of the iconic brands of the USA. Inspired by this theme, Louis De Poortere has created a new collection of Vintage Sixties rugs. A mix of straight and broken lines, of dull and shining yarns, of smooth and ragged pencil strokes.
The Madmen Griff Rug, or the concrete jungle, brings a striking urban edge to any space. I love its bold, slightly distressed design that pairs well with modern industrial interiors or pared-back minimal schemes. It’s perfect for a living room with neutral tones or darker colour palettes, acting as a statement piece without overwhelming the room. Practical styling tips include layering with textured cushions or throws for added depth, and keeping furniture simple around it to let the rug be the star. Thanks to its size, it also works well under a large coffee table or dining table, anchoring the space effectively.
