Madison Avenue runs between Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Since the Twenties, it has been the centre of the American advertising industry. The Mad-ison Men were the golden boys of the Sixties , who dreamed up the images of the iconic brands of the USA. Inspired by this theme, Louis De Poortere has created a new collection of Vintage Sixties rugs. A mix of straight and broken lines, of dull and shining yarns, of smooth and ragged pencil strokes.
The Madmen Griff Rug is a versatile piece that works particularly well in contemporary or industrial-inspired interiors, thanks to its copper tone and interesting texture. I love it because it adds a subtle metallic accent without overpowering the space, making it a great choice for living rooms or bedrooms where you want a cosy yet stylish atmosphere. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral sofas and minimalist accessories to let the rug stand out, or layer it with other earthy textiles for a more tactile, layered look. It's practical for adding colour and texture to smaller spaces or helping define zones in an open-plan layout. Just be mindful of its size relative to your furniture; it works best when anchored beneath a sofa or dining table to create a cohesive look.
