I’m a fan of the Madison bed for its clean lines and plush black velvet - it instantly lends a slightly luxe, camera-ready feel without feeling over the top. It sits comfortably in modern or transitional schemes, from monochrome minimalism through to Art Deco or jewel-toned bedrooms, and it’ll work equally well against a pale grey or deep painted feature wall. To style it, start with crisp white or pale linens for contrast, then layer in textured cushions or a throw in a rich accent hue (think deep teal or ochre). Keep bedside tables slim-lined and add metal-framed lamps or a sculptural mirror to bounce light. A low-pile rug underfoot will anchor the look, and if space is tight you can even fit slim drawers beneath for discreet storage.

Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.

A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
