Description

Design. A truly unique dining table with a cylinder-shaped base featuring metallic cut out detailing. The lyra Dining Table will add depth and texture to your space with its mix of materials and busy design. Lyra has a beautiful contemporary white marble top that compliments the antique brass base, creating a modern industrial dining room feature that will have family and friends talking. Providing plenty of practicality, the Lyra Dining Table is an accommodating option because of its round shape, allowing you to squeeze a couple of extra seats around when needed.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its striking combination of a classic white top with a contemporary, sculptural base. It works brilliantly in modern or industrial interiors, adding elegant contrast and architectural interest. The perforated gold base makes it a statement piece that can be styled with both minimalist tableware or a more eclectic mix of accessories. Practical styling tips include pairing it with upholstered dining chairs in neutral tones to highlight the base, or adding a runner and centrepiece for everyday appeal. Its versatile design means it can transition effortlessly from casual family meals to more formal dinner parties, making it a smart choice for a range of interiors.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
