I’m particularly fond of this walnut dining table because its warm grain and clean lines sit comfortably between mid-century modern and contemporary styles. In a Scandi-inspired scheme it brings in natural texture without feeling too heavy, while in a more traditional or transitional setting it adds a crisp, updated edge.
For styling, anchor it on a low-pile jute or wool rug in neutral tones, then layer in simple tableware - think stoneware plates and matte glassware - to let the wood really pop. Add a slender vase of greenery or a single sculptural bowl as a centrepiece, and mix in upholstered chairs or a slim bench on one side to balance comfort with its streamlined look.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
