Price History

Description

Stylish lighting for low ceilings with the Lucia Bathroom Flush Ceiling Plate. This ceiling light comes in a chrome finish that looks ideal in modern bathrooms and comes IP44 rated for sufficient water resistance. It also has 5 clear glass shades, which each encase an array of crystal effect beading that sparkles as it reflects the light from within.

Our Stylist Says

I love this flush ceiling plate because of its contemporary, industrial aesthetic, which adds a touch of edgy sophistication to a bathroom. The smoky finish makes it versatile, pairing well with modern minimalism or even eclectic interiors that incorporate darker or metallic accents. It works particularly well in oversized or open-concept bathrooms, where statement lighting can redefine the space. For styling tips, consider pairing it with matte black fixtures or textured tiles to enhance its urban vibe, and siting it above a frameless mirror or a freestanding bath can help create a cohesive, stylish look. It’s a practical choice that combines form and function, giving off bold character without overwhelming the space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
