Price History
Description
AJ floor lamp from Louis Poulsen, a modern icon, was specially created by well-known designer Arne Jacobsen in 1960 for the opening of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the same occasion for which he designed the famous Swan and Egg chairs. This classic piece provides directional light which, thanks to the white lacquered inside, spreads easily in the room. Its head has a characteristic design and adjustable shade to further optimise light diffusion. Use it as a reading lamp next to your favourite armchair or as a work lamp next to your desk. The timeless AJ floor lamp is available in several different colours and can be combined with the table lamp and wall lamp from the same range.
Our Stylist Says
The Louis Poulsen AJ lamp in brass-black offers a sleek, modern aesthetic with a distinctive blend of matte black and warm brass tones that can elevate both contemporary and classic interiors. I love how its minimalist design makes it versatile enough to complement a variety of spaces-from cosy reading corners to sophisticated offices. For styling tips, consider pairing it with textured fabrics or natural materials to add warmth, or place it beside statement furniture pieces to emphasize its sculptural form. Its adjustable arm and focused light make it practical for task lighting while maintaining a stylish, understated presence-perfect for those who want functional design with visual impact.
