Loop Padded armchair textile wood red / Fabric & curved beech - Wiener GTV Design

Responding to the invitation extended by historic manufacturer Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, designer India Mahdavi created the Loop armchair. With its playful curves, this armchair has the charm of a hand-sketched drawing and benefits from the ancestral expertise of the famous Venice-based creative studio: "Gebrüder Thonet Vienna is the only manufacturer in the world that lets you translate a freehand design into a living piece in wood of this quality. "The steam-bent wood element, the lietmotiv of the Wiener GTV Design brand, has been featured in this project in an unexpected way in the form of loops, that India has designed in single stroke, without lifting her pencil from the sheet of paper, remaining faithful to the idea of movement. The bent beech frame traces a line that winds in on itself, before continuing its path, leaving two folded loops in its wake. These charming buckles push the limits of the curved wood: the wood doubles its efforts to boost its beauty and rounded contours. India worked with a subtle colour palette: the structure and fabric covering come in similar, but not quite identical, tonal combinations.
