The luminary Michael Anastassiades presents his latest invention for Flos: the Coordinates C2 Ceiling Light in a breathtaking champagne-hued finish. Initially commissioned for the dining area in New York's historic Four Seasons Restaurant, the dimmable light infuses extruded aluminium with optical silicone diffusers for a grid-like structure of horizontal and vertical elements, easily adaptable to all environments. Designer of the Year at MAISON & OBJET January 2020, Michael Anastassiades's philosophy is to produce exceptionally designed objects of permanent value. The light master's work features in permanent collections at the MoMA, the V & A and the MAK, communicating a sense of eclecticism, individuality and timelessness.
I love the long co-ordinates C2 ceiling light for its sleek, contemporary design and polished anodised champagne finish, which adds a touch of understated glamour. It's particularly versatile and works well in modern, minimal, or industrial interiors where clean lines and subtle metallic accents are key. Practical styling tips include hanging it over dining tables or in living areas with high ceilings to emphasise its elongated form, and pairing it with other gold or neutral-toned accessories for a cohesive look. Its minimalist aesthetic means it acts as a statement piece without overwhelming the space, making it suitable for both understated elegance and more eclectic interiors.
