Description
Cheerful, chic and graphic, the collection of Marimekko fabrics brightens up your interior! Adopt the bright colours and bold prints of the legendary Finnish fashion house. The Lokki pattern was designed by Finnish textile designer Maija Isola (1927 - 2001), which is the origin of Marimekko's iconic floral pattern: Unikko. The idea for the Lokki (seagull) pattern came to Maija Isola when she was looking at a window with a curtain drawn on it. The sun was shining and the wide folds in the curtain formed rippling shadows on the fabric. Maija had a sudden inspiration: if a fabric is printed with waves, even a small piece of that fabric appears thick, richly folded. Made entirely of cotton, this pillowcase will look great on your bed. Created in 1951, the Marimekko company is a state of mind, an art of living based on creativity, freedom of mind and inventiveness. Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko. The brand went on to enjoy enormous success, which continues today with a range of clothing and decorative accessories in vibrant colours, for a house full of inspiration!.
