Price History

Description

The Wasabi scented candle has a high-intensity fragrance with a green, spicy aroma, evocative of wasabi: the Eutrema Japonica plant used to create a pale green paste that adds a distinctive, peppery piquancy to many dishes. The fresh, uplifting scent unfolds to reveal notes of basmati rice and lemongrass over time. Crafted in natural wax with a single cotton wick, the candle is presented in a yellow-glazed terracotta vessel with a stamped base. All LOEWE Home Scents items are olfactory creations that highlight nature’s most natural and pure scents. Due to their handcrafted nature, no two candles are exactly the same.

Our Stylist Says

This large green candle is a versatile piece that works well in both modern and eclectic interiors, adding a bold yet understated touch. Its sizeable form makes it ideal as a centrepiece on a coffee table or sideboard, especially in minimal or neutral schemes where it can serve as a focal point. As a stylist, I’d recommend pairing it with textured ceramics or natural materials like wood and stone to enhance its earthy vibe. Practical tip: keep it in reach of an open space where you want to create a cosy, inviting atmosphere, and consider trimming the wick regularly to maintain a clean burn. Its sizeable presence and muted tone make it a perfect option to add warmth and depth without overpowering a room.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
