Description

Design. Our Mary Rose Upcycled Coffee Table from the Little Tree Furniture Range has got its nautical name from the fact that most of the hardwood used to create this colourful furniture item is from reclaimed fishing boat timbers and still bears its natural colouring and markings, some of the wood is over 150 years old. The wood has a natural wear and tear feel and has been reclaimed and upcycled to bring you amazing furniture that is unique and very contemporary and is totally perfect for the most design led home. This furniture piece will certainly be a talking point in any room in any home given its previous history and the fact that each piece is completely unique and individual.

Our Stylist Says

The Little Tree Coffee Table has a wonderfully rustic look that works well in both casual and eclectic interiors. I love its sturdy, natural wood finish, which adds warmth and texture to a living space. It’s versatile enough to suit boho, Scandinavian, or even farmhouse styles, especially when paired with layered textiles and vintage accessories. Practical styling tips include using the lower shelf for storage baskets or magazines to keep the top clutter-free, and experimenting with simple centrepiece accents like potted plants or a tray with candles for a relaxed, lived-in feel. It’s a piece that combines durability with a charming, artisan aesthetic, making it a practical yet stylish addition to many interiors.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
