Description
Sexy, attractive, scandalous and cheeky, this cushion represents a sensual mouth smoking a cigarette. This cushion, with its corrosive humour, captures the subversive spirit of famous American designer Jonathan Adler. This woollen cushion is hand-embroidered in cross-stitch. This traditional embroidery technique evokes an antiquated world that contrasts with the quirky pattern. Inspired by hyperrealism and Pop Art, this sensual mouth is loaded with great emotional force. You’ll immediately recognise the inimitable style of American Jonathan Adler. His refined, kaleidoscopic world is inspired by pop culture, American modernism, the origins of hip-hop, contemporary art and fashion. Ceramicist, designer and internationally renowned interior designer, Jonathan Adler first became passionate about terracotta and exhibited his first pottery collection at Barneys in New York in 1993. "Earth is the basis of my work and will always be" affirms Jonathan Adler. For each ceramic piece from the collection, a prototype is made by hand in Jonathan Adler's workshop located in the achingly hip So Ho neighbourhood of New York.
