Lila Sputnik Flush Ceiling Light, Chrome

Our Stylist Says

I love this Sputnik-style light for adding a modern, statement pièce to contemporary interiors. Its chrome finish makes it versatile, ideal for sleek, minimalist spaces or eclectic rooms that benefit from a touch of glamour. It works particularly well in living rooms, dining areas, or bedrooms where a central feature is desired without overwhelming the space. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral or monochrome palettes to highlight its reflective chrome and glass elements, or use it to inject a pop of metallic shine into more colourful schemes. Practical tips include keeping the surrounding decor simple to let the light’s design shine-and remember, its multiple bulbs will cast interesting patterns, so positioning it in rooms where good illumination is key is important.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
