Instantly recognisable from its distinctive shape, the Togo has remained a cult classic for over 40 years. Hand sewn in the small French village of Briord, the curved silhouette of the legendary sofa provides the characteristic pleats of crumpled fabric whilst also making it the ideal seat to lay back and relax into.

I’m a big fan of the Togo chair for its laid-back form and the way its soft, ribbed upholstery in ecru slots effortlessly into Scandi-inspired, minimalist or modern boho schemes. Its low-slung design makes it ideal for creating a relaxed reading nook or as an occasional seat in an open-plan living area.
Styling tip: layer a chunky knit throw or a small sheepskin over the back to introduce texture, then anchor it with a slimline side table or a simple black floor lamp for contrast. Group two chairs facing each other across a low coffee table to define a cosy conversation zone without overwhelming the room.

Heal's is a well-known British furniture store with a history that spans over 200 years. It began in 1810 when John Harris Heal and his son started a business for feather products but soon moved into furniture.
By the 1900s, almost everyone in London knew Heal's for its great furniture. Interestingly, they were also among the first to sell electric lights in Britain. During World War II, their main store even helped by making parachutes for soldiers.
