Description

Sleek and contemporary, this stunning dining table features brilliant-chromed steel legs which easily move apart to accommodate the integral folding extension panel. In contrast to the two tops, the extension has no lip offering an eye-catching design feature with lots of modernistic appeal. Perfect for entertaining, the Ava can sit from 8-10 people with the option to keep neatly folded when that extra space is not needed. This is certainly a stylish and practical piece, with various finishes available, you are sure to find the perfect match to add into your home.

Our Stylist Says

I love this table for its clean, modern lines and practical extendable design, making it perfect for both everyday family meals and larger dinner parties. Its versatile shape works well in contemporary, Scandinavian, and minimalist interiors, where its streamlined aesthetic adds a sense of openness. For styling, pair it with sleek, upholstered chairs or minimalist wooden seating to enhance its refined look. Practical tips include using the extension feature to create an instant focal point for gatherings, and keeping the surroundings uncluttered to highlight the table’s elegant form. Its neutral colour makes it easy to coordinate with various colour schemes and accessories, ensuring it remains a stylish centrepiece in any dining space.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
