Our Stylist Says
I’m a fan of this smoke-grey boucle stool for its tactile, grid-stitched upholstery and slim black metal frame - it brings both comfort and a clean-lined silhouette to a kitchen island or breakfast bar. The neutral tone means it slots seamlessly into Scandi-inspired, minimalist or industrial settings without competing with bolder accents. To style it, pair with a white quartz or light oak countertop for contrast and add a soft woollen throw over the seat back to introduce extra warmth. If you’re mixing heights, group it alongside a couple of lower stools or armless counter chairs in complementary neutrals, and finish with a simple pendant light above to keep the look cohesive.

About The Range
Humble Beginnings
In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
A Visionary Leader
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
More Than Just Stores
You can find The Range in many places, mostly outside town centres, but also in shopping areas. Some stores have a coffee shop called "Dee Dee's", and others even have a food section from Iceland. And if you like online shopping, The Range has got you covered there too with a big online store.
