Description

Design. For stylish storage, the Lewes Reclaimed Wood Small Wardrobe is the perfect choice. Ethically made from reclaimed wood, Lewes has a warm sundried wheat finish that's subtly distressed for a unique look. A curved front, wooden handles and shaker style legs add a timeless appeal. The Lewes Small Wardrobe features a spacious interior with a hanging rail and four drawers.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little Lewes wardrobe for its rustic charm and versatile appeal. Its reclaimed wood finish adds warmth and character, making it perfect for both traditional and contemporary interiors that want to introduce a touch of natural texture. It's ideal for smaller bedrooms or as a stylish storage solution in living areas, thanks to its compact size. For styling, consider pairing it with soft, neutral tones to keep the look light and airy, or contrasting it with darker accessories for a more dramatic vibe. Practical tips include adding open baskets or trays inside for accessories or organising smaller items, making it as functional as it is attractive. This piece works particularly well in cosy, cottage-inspired schemes or urban spaces with a relaxed, vintage feel.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
