Description

Our expansive Briolette Cabinet is a kitchen or pantry hero offering plentiful space for essential cooking ingredients. Each of the four decorative cupboard doors, which sport a diamond design reminiscent of French antiques, open to reveal contrasting paintwork and multiple purpose-built storage solutions; from wine racks and removable shelves to integrated spice racks. Made from recycled pine, each cabinet is truly unique with individual characteristics that add to its story.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little sofa for its versatile, neutral tone which makes it easy to style within a range of interiors. It's perfect for creating a relaxed, inviting lounge or media room, especially when paired with cosy throws or textured cushions in complementary shades. Its simple, clean silhouette works well in both contemporary and traditional settings - think minimalist Scandinavian schemes or more classic, layered spaces. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a textured rug to anchor the space or accessorising with small side tables to keep the area functional. Its understated elegance and comfortable proportions make it a reliable choice for both everyday living and more refined interiors.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
