The name is a tribute to Leon Tarasewicz, a Polish artist of Belarusian origin who participated in the 49th Biennial in Venice. Inspired by the «plowed fields» that are a predominant theme in Tarasewicz's work, Leon has an evocative two-tone motif based on vertical lines in a mocha or cherry finish, which creates a number of optical effects. When viewed from the front, the piece has a two-tone look. But when seen from the side, it appears to have a uniform light or dark finish. It might be termed a product of «real kineticism» -an artistic idea applied to fine design. A quick glance tells you that the finish requires the careful, meticulous craftsmanship of skilled artisans.
