Design. With its simple shape, airy design and compact drawer, the Leif bedside table makes the most of minimalist and modern interiors. Itsnatural mango wood top features charming grains, marks and colourings, which are beautifully complemented by the brass finish of its legs and drawer handle. The table’s front is detailed with a classic parquet design, updated with concrete inlays for a cool and sleek look. Set upon long, splayed legs, the Leif offers a welcome sense of space whilst providing convenient storage, letting you stay snuggled up in bed with all of your essentials close by. Very on-trend, but with a touch of mid-century flair, it is sure to make mornings all the more appealing. Combine with the coordinating bed frame, wardrobes and chest of drawers for effortlessly harmonised style.

Our Stylist Says

The Leif bedside table with its mango wood finish offers a fantastic blend of natural texture and contemporary style. I love how its geometric detailing and subtle colour accents make it a versatile piece that can add visual interest without overwhelming a space. It works particularly well in Scandinavian or modern interiors, where its clean lines and warm tones can complement neutral palettes. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a cosy table lamp, a few curated books, or a small plant to create an inviting bedside nook. Its compact size also makes it perfect for smaller bedrooms or as a charming side table in a living area, adding character and functionality effortlessly.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
