Introducing the Leicester wallpaper by Morris & Co. Leicester was designed as a block printed wallpaper by John Henry Dearle in 1912. Inspired by Morris earlier design Bachelors Button of 1892 Leicester evokes the romance of the mediaeval past that so inspired Morris. Featuring a beautiful floral design in shades of green yellow and pink on a brown background. This wallpaper is part of the Archive II Wallpapers collection. Application Method: paste the paper and then apply wallpaper. Pattern match: Half match. Pattern repeat: 45.7cm.
I love the Leicester wallpaper for its classic yet lively botanical pattern, which adds a touch of timeless charm to any room. It works particularly well in traditional or vintage-inspired interiors, but can also bring a fresh, charming element to modern spaces when paired with neutral furnishings. Practical styling tips include using it as an accent wall to avoid overwhelming a smaller room, or combining it with light-coloured textiles and simple furniture to let the pattern stand out. Its balanced colour palette makes it versatile, so it pairs nicely with both soft pastels and darker accent colours for a layered, cohesive look.
