Description

A first for Le Creuset, the Outdoor Collection is an invitation to bring sophistication and quality outdoors. Crafted from legendary Le Creuset enamelled cast iron and specifically designed for cooking over an open flame, the collection enhances the open-air cooking experience with exceptional performance and thoughtful details. Go beyond the kitchen with the Outdoor Square Grilling Basket, crafted from enamelled cast iron and designed for the open flame. Perforations in the basket keep small items from falling through while still allowing heat to reach the food for a chargrilled flavour. Ideal for seafood, vegetables and more. Made from Black Enamel Cast Iron, which is specifically developed to be durable, easy to clean and resists dulling and staining. The Black Enamel Cast Iron has enhanced durability for regulated and unregulated heat sources up to 450°C. No seasoning is required. Suitable for use on barbecues, grills, gas hobs and oven use. Not suitable for AGAs or induction hobs. Individually cast in sand moulds and handcrafted in France at the original Le Creuset foundry since 1925. Covered by a Limited Lifetime Guarantee. Le Creuset Outdoor Cast Iron Care Remove all packaging and labels. Wash the pan in hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly Can endure heat on regulated and unregulated heat sources up to 450°C Compatible with outdoor grills, pizza ovens, wood-fired ovens, domestic ovens and gas. Not suitable for AGAs or induction hobs With charcoal or wood-fired outdoor/barbecue grills, always put the product on a rack, never in direct contact with the embers. Leave a minimum distance of 5cm between the rack and the embers When using on an open heat source, always ensure that the flames do not extend around the sidewalls of the product. Keep the flames confined to the base Always cool a hot pan for a few minutes before washing. Thermal shock may occur, resulting in cracking or loss of enamel Recommended to use silicone, wood or other heat-resistant tools when cooking. Knives or other sharp metal utensils may mark and scratch the enamel cooking surface Dishwasher-safe, however handwash is recommended

Our Stylist Says

I love this grill basket for its sleek satin black finish and practical design, making it a versatile addition to outdoor kitchens and garden storage. It works well in contemporary or rustic settings, especially when paired with other cast iron cookware or natural materials like wood and stone. When styling, consider using it as a functional display piece on open shelving, or keep it handy in a dedicated outdoor storage space for easy access during barbecues. Its square shape and handles add a modern touch, while the durable cast iron ensures longevity and even heat distribution, perfect for grilling vegetables, seafood, or smaller cuts of meat. It’s a great multi-use piece that combines practical outdoor cooking with a clean, minimal aesthetic.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
