Treat yourself to an iconic ORIGINAL by Cassina. An original will always retain its value, being passed on to the next generation. Cassina is the exclusive publisher of Le Corbusier's LC collection of 20th century icons. In 1951, on the shores of the Azure Riviera, Le Corbusier built "Le Cabanon". This modest Wood construction is the absolute archetype of essential living, based on an ergonomic, functionalist approach. Everything fits into 15 m²: the furniture is reduced to a bed, a table, a few storages, a washbasin and a toilet. The Den represents the culmination of research into the notion of the minimum cell, which lies at the heart of the preoccupations of 20th-century modern architects, and revives the myth of the primitive Den. Le Corbusier designed the first version of the LC14 Stool in 1952 to furnish "Le Cabanon". Designed in the shape of a box according to the objet trouvé principle, LC14 was inspired by a case of Whisky abandoned on the beach. The three-dimensional variant was designed in 1959 for the Maison du Brésil, a university residence at the Cité Internationale in Paris. Perfectly stable, LC14 can be placed either horizontally or vertically. It can be used as a seat or as a Coffee table. Lightweight, this mobile piece of furniture is easy to move and handle, thanks to the oblong openings that function as handles. This strikingly simple piece of furniture has been thought through to the last detail. This Spartan, yet elegant, piece of furniture is crafted using refined artisan techniques that highlight Cassina's ability to work with Solid wood. Dovetail joints emphasize the angles between the Solid wood boards. Often imitated and copied, but never equalled, Cassina's original Le Corbusier furniture can be identified thanks to the control of three pieces of information that guarantee its authenticity: the author's signature in the form of a marking, the Cassina logo ''I Maestri'', the identification number, present on every piece produced.
