Description
Remnants of the previous layers of oil paint can be seen beneath the surface of this abstract artwork. About the artist Bristol-based Jack Paffett often uses his surroundings as a starting point for his artworks, before allowing them to become mutated by spontaneous impulses on the canvas. Over-painted, erased and then reworked, his abstract pieces always show remnants of the layers that came before.
Our Stylist Says
I love this piece because of its minimalist yet impactful aesthetic, making it a versatile choice for various interiors. It works particularly well in contemporary or Scandinavian-inspired spaces, where clean lines and subtle colour palettes are key. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with other understated artworks or adding textured elements nearby to create visual interest without overwhelming the space. Practical tips include placing it at eye level above a sofa or sideboard, and ensuring it’s well-lit to highlight its depth-either with natural light or targeted spotlights. This artwork’s simplicity makes it a subtle statement that can elevate a room without dominating it.
