Description
"What more do you need than a cord and hook to hang a mirror on a wall?" The elements used to hang the mirror become major players in the Lasso aesthetic. With the Lasso mirror collection, Axel Bjurström reduces all the parts of a wall mirror to the essentials, which are then assembled into a unified, functional design. No frame, just the mirror itself, assembled to form a tactile, attractive whole. The thick black cord that encloses the mirror seems to have been tightened onto the still-hot glass, leaving a mark on it, an indelible imprint. The cord hangs from a light oak hook. The designer explains: "It's all about the materials: the veined, warm wood, the soft textile and the hardness of the glass. I wanted to reveal all the opposites and bring them into a perfect, simple relationship with an organic expression. " You can slip a photo, a postcard into the thick fabric cord. ".
