Description

Inspire a post modern, mid-century or retro vibe in your décor with our Large Velvet Easyfit Shade. This light shade comes with a gorgeous brass lining and features a stunning raspberry red finish for a vibrant and bold aesthetic in any living room or bedroom. With an easyfit function, this shade can also be easily screwed on to any pre-existing pendant light fitting, perfect for adding colour to rented homes.

Our Stylist Says

This large velvet shade in raspberry red is a fantastic statement piece for adding colour and texture to a variety of interiors. I love how its rich, tactile velvet finish creates warmth and softness, making it ideal for cosy living rooms, boutique bedrooms, or stylish dining areas. Its bold hue works particularly well in contemporary spaces, especially if you keep the surrounding decor neutral to let the shade stand out. Practical styling tips include pairing it with muted walls and minimal accessories to let the colour pop or using it to complement other deep accent tones. Hang it at a height that enhances its visual impact, and consider matching it with metallic accents for a chic finishing touch.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
