Description
Minimalist and versatile, this large Unique Fine Weave Basket was designed by The Basket Room and handcrafted in Kenya. This Unique Fine Weave Basket has been hand-crafted by skilled artisans in Kenya using a wild-growing sisal grass. Originating from Kenya's Eastern Province, each colourful basket is carefully woven by a collective of women led by inspirational chairwoman Dorcas Ndinda. Robust enough to store kindling and magazines, the basket would also serve as practical nursery storage for toys and books. Spurred on by their love of basket weaving, Holly Dutton and Camilla Sutton founded The Basket Room. By supporting local communities in Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya and Swaziland, the workers benefit from fair wages, dignified working conditions and flexible working hours. Please note: Due to the handcrafted nature of these baskets, no two are the same.
