Description
Designed by Michael Anastassiades for Flos, the large Overlap S2 Pendant Light is certain to lend a touch of contemporary design to any space. To create this organically shaped pendant light, the internal steel structure is coated in a white powder and sprayed with a unique resin, forming the cocoon texture of the diffuser. To finish, the light is protected with a transparent spray. Resulting in a finish similar to the silk cocoons spun by butterflies, the innovative shade diffuses light to bring a warm glow to any room. Originally used by the US Army as a protective packing material, Flos have been crafting innovative lighting using this special cocoon technique since it was founded in 1960. Having used it to craft several iconic pieces by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Tobia Scarpa, Michael Anastassiades' Overlap S2 Pendant Light is the newest addition to this elite collection.
